In shotgunning we modified the same line:

Question: How could you shoot a cat?

Answer: If they are going straight at or away from you, shoot straight at them. If they're crossing, lead 'em.

Everyone has heard the first part of the speach but how many have not heard the rest. Yet for some reason they never quote that part when it alters the whole context of the speach.
